What should I bring with me?
We understand that most people are worried about their first visit, please bring with you:
- Any proof of exemption from payment.
- A list of any medications you have been prescribed by your doctor.
- If you do not speak English, Urdu or Punjabi then please bring an Adult interpreter with you.
What will happen during my visit?
- We will take essential contact details eg name, address etc . We comply with Data Protection and do not disclose this information to anyone except the NHSBSA
- You will be asked to sign a Patient Declaration Form (blue FP17) if you are receiving NHS treatment.
- We will take a medical history.
- We will carry out a Dental Examination including a mouth cancer check and any xrays as appropriate. We will discuss with you any recommended treatment including what you can do to keep your mouth healthy (brushing, flossing, alcohol, smoking, diet, etc).
- We will give you a Treatment Plan including the cost.
- We may advise emergency treatment at the first visit if we think your condition will deteriorate rapidly or if you are in pain.
- We will only carry out that treatment which you agree to.
- You will be offered another appointment if it is needed.
- You may be asked to pay for the treatment you received at each visit.
